One of my favourite things about the Pride flag, is that when designing it, Gilbert Baker assigned a meaning to each colour.๐จ
โค๏ธ Red symbolises Life
๐งก Orange is for Healing
๐ Yellow portrays the Sunlight
๐ Green obviously resembles Nature
๐ Blue is for Harmony
๐ and Purple is Spirit.
(Can you tell it was designed in the swinging 70โs? โ๏ธ) lol
Also, fun fact: The first draft design of the flag originally contained Pink and Turquoise stripes (to resemble Sex and Magic). ๐ However, unfortunately the dye for the pink was too difficult to source, so both colours were removed at the last minute. ๐จ
